When I first started designing Midnight Botanica, I knew this home needed to feel like more than just a place to live. It had to be a story, a moody retreat with each room telling its own chapter. One piece that set the tone early on was the navy velvet wallpaper in the primary bedroom. With its metallic finish and velvet detailing, it instantly brought depth, drama, and a wow factor that became the heartbeat of the design. From there, every choice, from sculptural furniture to bold accent colors, built on that same story.

Entry

The entry sets the tone with light blue floral wallpaper, a fluted marble console table, and a hand-painted original art print. Together, they create a vignette that welcomes guests into the story.

Living Room

The living room is where Midnight Botanica really comes alive. A navy velvet sofa pairs with two statement chairs, while a sculptural credenza and marble side table bring texture and shape.

Because the condo is open plan, we layered in function. A two-person dining table with swivel chairs adds a cozy spot for meals, and three navy velvet stools at the island tie the kitchen into the design. The balance of bold choices and practical pieces makes this space perfect for both everyday living and entertaining.

Primary Bedroom

The primary bedroom is the most dramatic space, wrapped in navy velvet wallpaper and anchored by a matching bed. A floral vanity chair adds softness, while black carved wood furniture grounds the room.

Guest Bedroom

This bedroom leans whimsical, with a palette of greens, peaches, and creams. Walnut nightstands and a desk bring warmth and an organic touch.

Designer Tip: One of the best ways to stay on top of a project is by keeping your budget spreadsheet organized by room. Instead of lumping all purchases together, create separate tabs or sections for each space—living room, bedrooms, entry, and baths. Under each tab, track details like vendor, cost, lead time, delivery status, and installation notes. This system makes it easy to see where your investment is going, identify priorities, and adjust if something comes in over budget or out of stock. It also keeps the process stress-free when multiple rooms are being designed at once, ensuring nothing gets lost along the way. Designing Midnight Botanica has been about more than filling rooms with furniture. It’s been about crafting a layered story where each space connects to the next, while still carrying its own personality. From the moody drama of the primary suite to the whimsical charm of the guest bedroom, this home shows how bold choices, thoughtful details, and intentional planning can transform a house into a story worth living in.
