Hello from inside the magical chaos of our Chloe in Wonderland renovation. If you remember, I once said I’d bring you along step-by-step through our home updates. That… did not happen. Life, clients, installs. You get it.

But today, I finally get to share a space I’ve been dreaming up for months: my home office.

The office is about 80% done, and the finishing touches will evolve naturally as I spend more time in it. For now, I want to share the design decisions that set the tone — the pieces and ideas that created the personality of this room.

So let’s dive into the vision, the inspiration behind it, and how this Wonderland office started to take shape.

Where the Design Really Began

One thing was certain when I started designing our home: I was going to use as much wallpaper as humanly possible. So when it came time to design my office, wallpaper was the obvious starting point.

And I’m not exaggerating when I say I looked at over 800 wallpaper options during this renovation. But the moment I saw the Poodle Parlour print from Milton & King, I knew she was the one.

Wallpaper: My Love Letter to Milton & King × Poodle & Blonde

This wallpaper was my first official design decision for the office, and It set the tone for everything that followed: a whimsical workspace fit for a queen — blending vintage fantasy, Wonderland charm, and modern functionality. As a very proud poodle mom, there was absolutely no universe where I wasn’t using this print.

Poodle & Blonde truly outdid themselves with this one. The color palette, the nostalgic illustrations, and the vintage-meets-modern feel all came together perfectly. Shop this fun print here!

Furniture: Where Function Meets Fantasy

Once the wallpaper set the tone, it was time to choose the foundational pieces that made the room both beautiful and functional.

My Desk: A Facebook Marketplace Miracle

I found this solid wood desk on Marketplace for $50. She came painted white, a little sad, but after some love, she became exactly what I needed. Dramatic, sleek, and large enough to hold samples, plans, and everything else.

Designer Tip: Never underestimate Marketplace. Solid wood is always better than MDF.

The Storage Cabinets

I needed matching storage that was both functional and budget-friendly. I found these Wayfair cabinets and thought they were so cute for the price. I considered painting them, but once I saw them in the room, the black finish looked so good that I kept it.

Designer Tip: When a solid-wood designer piece isn’t in the budget, Wayfair has reliable, affordable options. Just check the reviews.

The Decor:

This is where the finishing touches started to shape the overall feel of the room.

The Pooky Chandelier

This seven-tier chandelier is truly the crown of the office. The antique glass mixed with a modern silhouette gives it the perfect amount of drama. It brings height, sparkle, and balance to the entire space. Shop here!

Designer Tip: Because my desk sits perfectly centered under the light, I had the freedom to choose a larger, more dramatic fixture. Symmetry gives you scale.

The Moroccan Rug

Handmade in Morocco and everything I hoped for. The second I saw it, it reminded me of Zoe’s fluffy white curls — which, honestly, is the highest compliment anything can receive in this house.

I sourced it from Berber Weaver on Etsy, one of my favorite shops for artisan-made rugs. Shopping for rugs on Etsy is a treasure hunt — real craftsmanship, unique designs, and the kind of texture that makes a space feel collected. Shop here!

The Oversized Bulletin Board

Yes, I made this giant board myself. And yes, I’ll be breaking down exactly how in another post. It’s one of the most functional elements in the room and holds my design brain together.

Tile Sample Shelves

Simple picture ledges from Wayfair became a sample display wall — cute, functional, and the only reason my materials aren’t in one giant pile on the floor. Designers need controlled chaos, and this is mine.

What’s Next

The office looks dreamy now, but trust me, it came with lessons. In the next blog post, I’ll break down exactly how we built this room, what worked, what didn’t, and what I would absolutely do differently next time.

Stay tuned! Wonderland always has another chapter.
